People message me about partner codes all the time. Same question every time: can you get free trades or lower spreads?
No. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code won't affect it.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. Simple as that.
What's the bonus amount?
Deposit $1,000 and get $200.
Put in $2,000, get $400.
$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. That's for serious capital.
UK accounts start at £160 for £800 deposited. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Minimum to open an account is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.
The code field isn't obvious
Registration page. Once you've filled in your phone number, there's a small link saying "Have a Partner Code?". Click on that text. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Easy to read more miss since it's collapsed by default.
If you see an error, it's fine. Go ahead and register anyway. Contact support before funding. Request partner code 128979 be added. Standard practice for them.
You can't withdraw the bonus straight away
You need to trade a certain volume.
About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Happens faster than you'd think if you're active.
The deposit belongs to you. Take it out anytime. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.
Worth mentioning: while the bonus is locked, it still counts toward your margin. This lets you take bigger positions. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
